how many wlan can connect to rb500 ?

how many wlan cards can be conneced to rb 532 with two athreos 5212 cards?

one card will work as wds bridge
second will be in ap mode

is this posibile to handle 40 wlan cards ??

Yes, 40 clients would be possible. But think about bandwidth available to each of your clients

Works fine for me
If you are in providing business and selling 64, 128 kbit/s etc. it will work without probs on more then 40 wlans.
But, if you are doing community whithout shaping users, don’t expect that it will work on 40+ clients.

Cheers…

i’m selling 200 kbit and 400 kbit

i must change to athreos becouse prism does not work good in 2.9…
on rb500 i canot downgrade to 2.8…

Well, 200 and 400 is fine also.
I have 128,256 and 512 kbit/s packets and currently 37 clients on one AR5212 card.

Do not worry, just go for it

hello guy,

just like to pop a quick question.

how much bandwidth do you usually pump-in to your MT boxes. is there a rule of thumb for number of clients / speed allocations.
Whats more practical: 3 x 512kbps or just 1 x T1.

I would welcome any suggestions from real-world experience by wisp operators.

One link is enough if we are talking about real land connection.
If we are talking about satelitte link, than for sure you need more links to provide enough tcp connections.
Anyhow in both cases you should limit number of concurent tcp connections per ip address.
