May I know that when I have a large quantity of Mikrotik wireless AP to be deployed, if I set my frequency to auto, will those Mikrotik AP negotiate themselves from time to time so that they won’t clash each others?
If they do not work as mentioned above, does Capsman does the job? meaning that it will control the frequency of the Mikrotik device based on environment frequency to avoid much interference?
No. The auto frequency will determine the best frequency at startup and then stick to it. There is no negotiation or central intelligence. The problem is that after a power-out all the APs start at the same time and probably determine that channels 1 and 36 are vacant and choose identical channels.
The smart solution to this is known as Radio Resource Management or RRM. AFAIK Aruba’s is one of the best and yet it still causes as much problems as it solves. It can’t optimize the channel plan without help. In an easy environment it may yield a working solution, though. Ekahau’s tools are pretty good if you enter all the required information correctly, but it creates a static plan. For the best results you need to apply human intelligence and create the channel plan by hand.
CAPsMAN doesn’t add anything like RRM. It only makes manual management easier.
