A little help i am seeking for. I am running Mikrotik version 3.3 stable from few months as a hotspot. It is working good, but now a need arises that we want some of our customers to be connected without any authentication. For this i added another Subnet on the same Interface that is already serving hotspot clients, also added the new pool under IP>Pool and also added a NAT rule in Firewall to NAT the new subnet.
But now as i assign the new IP to any of the client they are also getting the hotspot login page instead of getting internet directly. Further i want to create several small subnets /30 on the same interface.
i had a similar requirement and i later learnt that since hotspot works irrespective of what IP pool is assigned to the user or in his LAN hence the login page will always appear on that ethernet port. you can have another ethernet where u do not run hotspot and connect users thru that. or u can use pppoe along with hotspot where u do not want users being loggon with ur hotspot interface.
Thanks Guys
But see in my post i requested for. PPPoE and hotspot both run on single interface without any problem, but the problem is arrising for giving internet without any authentication. Like you say that you do not configure any server on MT, including hotspot and pppoe just add the ip pool and NAT it in the firewall and there you go.
So thats the requirement that some of the users be authenticated via pppoe or hotspot and some shud get internet directly without any authentication
add another IP pool and set queues. But still it will not work on the port with HOTSPOT.
Or else, u can try mac authentication for the user. so they will not have to login. the username will be their mac address.
