How to bridge 2 router boards...level 3 and level 4

Hi there…I am new to MIKROTIK and i wanted to make a 5km link with 2 router boards. So i started to read the howto about bridge with WDS. And then realized that one of the router boards has license level 3 and the other level 4.
The one with level 3 is unable to use AP BRIDGE mode so i cant make the connection. Can anyone tell me a way of making this link without upgrading license…

(link parameters: 5km long
needs to provide 18mbits…it will be used by 80 users so i need it stable.a friend of myne told me that i need bridge mode
)

will be relly greatfull for a tip :slight_smile:

Two options

  1. You can use version 3 beta software and use psedobridge
  2. You can spend $50 and upgrade the license.

and i cant get the link working without license 4 ?? :frowning:

Yes, if you use psedobridge in ROS3

If you are just connecting two sites with one link you don’t need to use AP Bridge - you can just use bridge which is the same thing but only allows one connection.

Will bridge work in WDS mode?

Thanks for the help CarulloS. I did the connection before I read the post but thanks anyways :slight_smile: i use bridge for AP and station for CLIENT. both boards are with EoIP interface and a Bridge between ether1 and EoIP.

Hope this conf. helps other people in situation like me :slight_smile:

I’m pretty sure that your licenses are OK to do a bridge p2p with wds. only the one mikrotik needs to use ap bridge. so you need only one L4 license

you can set mode=bridge on router with level 3 license

and that can be bridged
