How to configure restricted bandwidth (up/down) for VLAN interfaces

Hi everybody,

I’m currently trying to setup bandwidthmanagement on one of our routers but it won’t work.
What I need is a restriction on a specific interface, in this case a VLAN, in order to keep the used bandwidth on the VLANs at 512k/8Mbit.

I have two VLANs on ether2-master-local and the network connected on ether3.
I have tried simple queues but they don’t seem to restrict the traffic flowing.

Any idea how to best approach this problem?

Best regards

anyone?

I have not yet tried it, but I would like to have this function as well in the future. Router there is not yet installed.

However, I am not completely positive that it is going to work. Before, I tried tc on vlan interfaces in Linux and it did not work ok. There are several postings on internet indicating it is not possible, others say it can be done.
In my config it was even more complicated because I wanted to control both a VLAN and the parent interface (for untagged traffic) independently. Maybe it will work when that requirement is not present.
