How to create a Trunk/Tagged port?

Hello,

Sorry if this questions is answered too many times, but I have been trying to figure this out for 2 evenings now, and I still haven’t succeeded yet.

I am trying to configure a Trunk port for my Cisco WLC (2504), so I am able to apply VLANs for specific SSIDs.

I managed yesterday to setup Bridged VLANs for access ports (physical connected to RB750GL) , and this is working just fine.

I have 3 VLANs

VLAN 80 (Wired-LAN)
VLAN 90 (WiFi-LAN)
VLAN 100 (WiFi-Guest)

My goal is to have all my wired clients on VLAN80, and 2 separate SSID, 1 for Internal network (VLAN90) and 1 for Guests (100)

I have a Mikrotik Routerboard RB750GL running RouterOS 6.34.2.

do you have configured vlans on rb750 switch chip??

No I haven’t, i’ll try that now :slight_smile:

Is there any specific way to do it and what VLAN Mode should the Trunk be running? I can choose between (check, disabled, fallback, secure)

Still researching, tried to make VLANs on switch chip, but locked myself out both times.. (i followed this guide mum.mikrotik.com/presentations/IT14/starnowski.pdf)

I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q2vCrcI4xI and he is doing something similar I want, but without the switch chip?? But how about performance using this method??

Is it really necessary to buy a cisco switch and do everything on that?
