I am trying desperately to navigate the Winbox Beta thread. It used to all load at once so if I wanted to read from beta39 down I would just use the Browser Native Find function jump to “beta39” and then hit next until I was where I wanted.
Or if I need to check if a certain issue was already discuss I could quickly do so.
With Lazy Loading navigating a long thread is near impossible and text is always flashing in and out of existence with headache inducing latency.
Using the Discouse search tool is painful as well, even when scoped to the thread, since every time you click the search tool scrolling is reset and there’s no indication of the last post you clicked.
Surely it’s not too much to ask to at least load all the text in one go. Is there an option for lazy chunk size? Can it be set to full thread so the native scrolling an find controls work predictably??
You can create new posts in Announcements plus it’s not the right place for WinBox support. Everyone other category has individual posts per issue. Not sure why WinBox is different.
The announcements page specifically does not have a topic per Winbox 4 release. The only Winbox 4 release post is from August 2024 and is over 3000 lazy loaded (as in not loaded) comments long. The topic search tool doesn't handle this well either since there's no next/prev control so you have to re-scroll the search results memorizing the position after looking at each result. There's also no search highlighting so lots of extra reading to find what you're looking for.
The announcements page is also a mess. Topic titles for RouterOS versions don't include "RouterOS". Latest Stable/Testing WinBox versions (3 & 4) and SwOS aren't pinned. Neither is the current Newsletter.
The pinned "About the Announcements category" topic is useless and should just be removed.
Tags are available but Mikrotik inexplicably only uses them for "Newsletter".
