Good evening gents. As the title says, i want to force the routeros to connect only to 20mhz bands, cause i ve witness that every time it connects into a 10mhz as primary, even with two ca on 20mhz i get less speed than having only two bands of 20mhz.
As far as I’m aware, it’s not possible at the user end. This because CA is controlled by your provider. Your provider chooses the best band based on many factors (distance, congestion, etc…), which in your case sounds like they’re offering you a 10MHz band as primary and then 20MHz as CA.
I’ve found that given time (a few hours), the situation often resolves itself. with the 20MHz band becoming primary.
A workaround might be to test each band one by one to assertain which has the best SNR @ 20MHz and then the second best band, lock your device so it sees no other options. That way you only have two bands in which your provider can use. The problem with this approach maybe when congestion is a problem on the network and speed/trhoughput drops right back.
In my case I’ve locked in the four bands my provider uses and go with whatever my provider offers, knowing that more often than not it settles on a 20MHz band as primary after a while.
And that’s a reason why I don’t often offer help on these types of forums. A link, with no explanation, reasoning or context why you have provided it. Someone takes the time to help you and you just come back with some arbitrary link with some testing done by some random person on another forum. I hope you manage to resolve the issue but I’m out.
You didnt take time to help, you only waste time to be toxic. You are in a forum and you admit that you dont ofter offer help… Like Jesus Christ…There was a solution and the first thing you said was "As far as I’m aware, it’s not possible at the user end. " I found the solution on web and posted on your comment. You translated this as no explanation, reasoning and whatever. I say get a life and stop being toxic. You spend to much time “socializing” on web, go get some fresh air.
Of course he doesnt need to apologize while being that toxic, he needs an award. Being in a forum admitting that doesnt offer help even if he knows the solution on a problem, replying negatively into something that has a solution without even knowing it. Instead of telling him to be more polite you told him no need for apologies, like i posted a link and he started to make a point from his own. Pathetic.
Network configuration is all about creating strong, reliable connections—just like in human relationships. If you’re looking to define cultivate relationship, it means investing time, trust, and communication, whether you’re maintaining routers or friendships. Understanding this parallel can help build both better systems and stronger bonds. The more intentional the connection, the more reliable the outcome—on or offline.
