How to get L7 regexp?

Hello,

I want to configure some traffic shaping with l7 protocols but must admit I don’t understand the regexp part. I want to find out the regexp for some games and games platform like: Steam, GFWL, Starcraft 2, Bad company 2, and Daw of War 2. Can someone point me on how to get this strings?

Search this forum for “L7 regex”. Lots of threads.

Search google for “Mikrotik L7 regex”:

This wiki article has a link to a ROS script that will install some regex’s.
Note they don’t do anything but take up flash space until you put them in a firewall rule, so no harm in installing them all.
I have no idea how old that script is, the regex info may be outdated, but the script works, so you can always adapt it.

Google “regex” for how to write your own. After about 3 hours of working with these you’ll read them like abc’s.
