How to install .npk from command line

Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new in Mikrotik world and I don’t know how to updgrade an old routerboard (I hope that it is possible in my case).
Model: 751G-2HnD
Current Firmware: 3.41
Upgrade Firmware: 2.38
On MIkrotik website I found this version of routeros: routeros-mipsbe-6.41.2.npk .
Is it the correct version that fits in my case?
I already tried to go in the System option Auto upgrade, but the menu doesn’t show me nothing (no issues with internet connection).
Let me know if you need more informations.
Thanks in advance.

Matteo

What is your actual ros version? Check the release notes to see what changed meanwhile and consider you want all those changes. Be prepared to modify your settings accordingly. Take mipsbe all packages zip file, copy paste to winbox interface of the router only those package files you need and reboot. The upgrade will happen automatically during the boot process.

/system package update check-for-update

This is the proper command line to upgrade.

to the OP.

Firmware is not the same as Software. You are mixing up things. Use the above posted “/system package update check-for-update” command.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
I found the solution reprogramming the routerboard using netinstall.
Now the version on my device is updated.
