how to install on mini sata x86?

Hello ,
I’m trying to install ROS on a x86 that have a miniSata as HDD
how can I do it?
I have install the ROS on a DiskOnKey and thought he will ask me where to install - but he didn;t and insatll it on the DiskOnKey.
so how can I install on MiniSata?

also I have open netinstall on my computer
connected the other x86 with cable to my computer and I can see he is trying to TFTP but it’s not working.
Am I missing something ?

Thanks ,

netinstall is for MikroTik devices only. It will not work on x86.

RouterOS for x86 will only install on the first BIOS supported drive detected. You will need to disconnect all drives, except the drive you want it installed on. And that drive must be a BIOS bootable device.

I have only 1 HDD connected to the board - a miniPCI(e) - 32G
what do I need to in order to install Mikrotik on it?
(and it’s the first and ony option in the BIOS)

RouterOS will only install on a SATA based device. the m.2 interface on most boards support both mSATA and PCIe. Make sure the drive is SATA based and not NVMe based. The NVMe (PCIe) require a much newer Linux kernel (something in 4.x range) while RouterOS is current still running a 2.x kernel.

everything is OK -
I just don’t how to install in
do I need to create bootable disk and then install ?
what to do??
all the firmware is OK
I just need the steps to install it

Thanks ,

you can download bootable image from mikrotik site. just boot from the cd and start to install.
here is the link
https://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/6.39.2/mikrotik-6.39.2.iso

I did it
seem that I had a problem with my computer …
when I try with another computer it works

Thanks ,

Glad to head you got it worked out.
