How to know real bandwidth of a radio link?

Hi, this is my problem:

I have a wireless link (2x RB532 with CM9 cards) and the tx/rx rate is 54 Mbps but when I try to test the link with bandwidth test I have these results:

UDP only Receive=6.7 Mbps
UDP only Send= 10.9 Mbps
TCP only Receive = 5.3 Mbps
TCP only send = 6.7 Mbps

I have about same values on a 24 Mbps link… why?

There is a method for calculate real bandwidth of a wireless link?
How the processor speed can influence the speed of the data transfer?

Thank You

Paolo

Paolo,
first of all it is better to run bandwidth test trough wireless link, connect two powerful worskstations on both ends,
PC1==Router1—Wireless—Router2==PC2, run bandwidth from PC1 to PC2.
Bandwidth test takes a lot of CPU resources, if you running tests directly to router.

Hi Sergejs, Thank’s for answer

I’ve tried with two PC connected to the routers but results are about the same… :frowning:

Any suggestion?

Try running in turbo mode.
