How to label clients connected to an AP (non-WISP scenario)

We just began deploying MT/routerboard for indoor access points (been running our WISP network on RB for many years).
Everything working great, but one little thing is problematic:

In the “Registration” list you see all the connected clients, however the only two forms of identification are MAC address and “Last IP”.

Is there a way to label a client (e.g. with a comment), and have that persist forever, and see that label in the list (or some list) ?

In the WISP scenario the clients are also MT and therefore send their “radio name”, which is displayed nicely in the registration list.
However in an indoor 802.11 deployment the clients obviously don’t send that information.

Thanks.

If the clients are added to the Access List and comment is set, this comment also shows under the Registration tab. Would this accomplish what you’re asking for?

Perfect ! Thanks.

Wait…hmm. I knew I had tried this a few years ago and found a problem:

The comment appears in the registration list, but if I log out and back in again (I’m using Winbox fwiw) the comment is gone (it is still present in the access list entry though). Is there a trick to avoiding the comment-vanishing problem ?

Think I figured it out : the clients are gone from the registration list because something about adding them to the access list causes dis-association. The client than takes a minute or two to come back and re-associate. Once it has done so, it is of course back in the registration list, with comment.
