how to limit a network usage in bytes quota?

ok, at the moment, i’m using an internet that has a limit about 5 GB, i can use the internet more than 5 GB but i will have to pay more(more expensive), so, i’m thinking about how to block the internet connection(with mikrotik, such as automatically disabling NAT) once my total transmission reach 5 GB?

thanks in advance…

I am NOT sure it is possible with your Mikrotik, But you can always ask your provider to disable your internet once the limit reach to 5 GB.

There are 3rd party proxy servers that will allow you to apportion a certain daily traffic usage limit per user, so in essence you could divide up your 5Gb of traffic allowance over the month and then per user. I personally think this is klutsy and you would be wise to rather get a better Internet plan and manage the users with Mikrotik queues. To kill off Internet access seems extremely pointless IMHO.
