i know it’s a weird question, but how to limit mikrotik own’s bandwidth?
internet-mikrotik-client
for instance, i have 2 mikrotiks and i bandwidth test them both through mikrotik’s tool bandwidth test, and while i’m doing this, the client on both sides could not browse the internet since the bandwidths are all used by the bandwidth test though i have already set in queue the max-limit are.
i use rb450 abd rb450g with pcq equal sharing as per instruction on the manual.
BW test packets are generated by router, so they have to be marked in output or postrouting.
Also you can always set local-tx-speed and remote-tx-speed in bandwidth test tool.
Keep in mind that there isn’t anything you can do about being flooded from somewhere. That traffic is already in your pipe, and doesn’t magically disappear from there just because the router drops it. If you have problems with being flooded from somewhere, you need to filter further upstream.
