How to limit speed on my VLANs?

Hey y’all!

I had 2 VLANs, called vlan_vis and vlan_cons.. I want to limit the internet speed to 30Mbits.. how can I do this? Tried to use Simple Queue, setting the Target, but nothing works :frowning:

Cheers

Why not 100mbps just use a cat3 cable…
j/k why not use queues.???

Important thing when using queues is to disable fasttrack for that traffic (doesn’t have to be completely, only that part).
Or it will be gone before you have anything to say about it.

That’s insufficient info for anyone to say why it doesn’t work for you.

@normis just made a MicroTips video about simple queues. MikroTik QoS: simple queues No deep dive, but it does cover a simple case. Also read the comments from the video, because some queues are renamed “off screen” which is confusing when watching a beginner level tutorial.

Don’t laugh about that. I have two drops in my house that are running over 25 pair telephone cable. Both are limited to 10Mb/s in the switch.
Note that neither will EVER need more than a few kb/s…
