You could load your own Linux distribution, but you would need lots of experience with linux, patching kernel and lots of other things. This is not for the beginner
Hello normis,
It will be a great help if you can provide me with some steps to load OS on MikroTik Router or any location which can help in loading OS… ![]()
Thanks in Advance..
there exists no definite manual for this
you can go to some linux forum where this is discussed, or maybe here:
http://forum.routerboard.com/viewforum.php?f=10&sid=d4397099d374ef6521be62b25ee206a0
I don’t know how to load linux on RB, but I know that it’s possible.
Thanks again Normis.. ![]()
Here it is, Full Debian “Lenny” on an RB433AH board: http://opensource.dyc.edu/mips-devel
There is also an explanation how to install it on routerBoard.
And, you will loose Mikrotik OS license if you install something else.
What about FreeBSD on RB1000 ? Are it really work?
