How to power CCR1009-8G-1S-PC via POE

I see that the CCR1009-8G-1S-PC can be powered via poe. We normally use cisco sg300 poe switches, and connect the modem to port 1 on the Mikrotik, and the cisco to port 2 on the Mikrotik. If we instead connect the cisco to port 8 of the Mikrotik, which is the poe port, will that power the device?

Thanks.

Hello,

according to the quick guide available from routerbaord.com, it accepts only passive PoE. To me that means you can only use the gigabit PoE injector that is available from your distributor.

Using the cisco PoE switch might damage port 8.

just my 2c worth.

Thanks. Can someone from MikroTik confirm this?

Yes. It should work. I think the sg300 is 48v PoE. You will need a something to step down to 24v.

Yes, it says right here in the hardware guide, that “Only passive PoE” is supported, so can’t be powered from other brand switches, only injectors.
