I need your help with a simple question:
in the wireless registration on the router I can see to rows
Tx rate , Rx rate
what does’t mean?
is the Tx-rate meaning the upload the wlan card on the router? or it show the how much he can get from the client?

Thanks ,
Tx goes from router to client. So client download is Tx rate on router.
OK
you can think of any reason why it doens’t go up more them 54Mbps?
the AP is config with 20/40Mhz 2Ghz-g\n
Thanks ,
Maybe you are on the highest channel so the extension channel is disabled in Ce mode?
(or on the lowest channel and it is disabled in eC mode)
Your display indicates you operate on 20 MHz channel width.
If you’re stuck at 54Mbps then you might be using tkip.

- I’m not using any security profile
- you mean that Im using 2442 in 20/40mhz Ce? so this may cause the problem ?
and if i will go to a “middle” channel or even change it to eC it will work and the rate will be higher?
can you explain in general what does Ce\eC mean in spectrum wise ?
I know that if we are working in 20Mhz in 2442 the spectrum is
±10 from 2442 so:
2432-2452 is “used”
so what does 40Mhz mean in eC\Ce mode ?
Thanks ,
Ce means you have a 20MHz channel at the frequency you see in the status, plus an extension channel that is ABOVE it.
eC means the extension channel is BELOW it. So a 40 MHz channel is not centered on the displayed frequency, there is 10MHz at one side and 30MHz at the other side.
When you try to fool the AP into creating the extension channel outside of the allowed band, it will just be turned off and you have 20MHz channel width.
So to see I understand you correct
I need to make sure that I have 40Mhz band for the freq I choose ?
So 2422 will work with Ce because I it have until 2452 (which is in the band 2467)
?
Thanks ,
Btw, i don’t recommend using 40MHz in 802.11n.

why?
The highest available channel depends on the country where you are.
Try to use channel 1 with Ce it should always work.
When you use the highest channel, try eC mode,
802.11 stipulates that in case of interfetence (ya, like always) it will revert to 20MHz.
Even if you live in the woods, you’ll be limited. Channel 1 or channel 11. Ssi only one AP.
