All 6.xx versions of routerOS has been causing reboot loop for several minutes to several hours during any power cycle for my RB2011. I’ve spent countless hours searching on this and it seems to be a problem no one had a definite solution for. even the official mikrotik support response has always beena single line statement telling me to upgrade.
The problem persist even with my upgrade to 6.13.
Now I want to downgrade to v5 since I never had that experience. I’ve read at several places on how to downgrade but I don’t know exactly what to copy to the Files section under Winbox
Upload the
older packages to the router via FTP and then
use the /system package downgrade
command.
what exactly am I supposed to upload?
Is it only the " Upgrade package" for the older version I want to downgrade to or the “All packages” of it?
If I’m supposed to upload the “all packages”, should I upload it as the zip file or do i have to extract it first?
that’s a huge bummer for me because I jx checked and mine is the new type rb2011UiAS-2hnd-in meaning my router is effectively worthless as it stands. The thing has been rebooting since 9 am GMT and it is still in that loop hence my business is down.
If I may ask, what will happen if I take my chance and install the 5.26
Better solution is (if you have access to pre-release page) upgrade to 6.14rc8 and then upgrade routerboot. If you still have problem → write to support
For anyone who may have this kind of problem with the rb2011uias-2hnd-in routerboard, the surest way to
get rid of this problem is to get access to the router through netinstall and downgrade to v6.10.
That is what I did and that is what i have currently which works perfectly for me.
