In my global settings I have defined
Allow users to send you private messages: Yes
but how can another user send me a PM ?
When I go to my own profile there is nothing under “CONTACT myid” (ie. there is no button or link for contacting).

This forum has PM disabled.
Too bad ![]()
The profile settings (as shown in my OP) should consider this fact.
Why?
It has several times I would like to talk to a user in private, without expose my email to all.
We are dealing with immense amounts of spam, no matter the configuration and anti-spam plugins used. Enabling PMs will make the users suffer too.
That is why the profile option works… Suck it up princesses.
OK, have fun. It’s enabled.
Hi Normis, I was making the point that its available for those that choose to make it available (to the others in the thread). I wasn’t disagreeing with your point of view or your choice to run your website as you see fit!!! Well if you do bend so easily, send me some wireless wire kits for free for my test purposes… pretty please with Maple Syrup on top!! C’mon roll over again. ![]()
best I can do right now is a CHR license
Send them to @anav and he might squeeze some mapple syrup from them ![]()
But I wouldn’t mind getting one ![]()
mkx can make better use of CHR license than me. I have no problem procreating. "-)

Thanks!
I just wrote a PM, The header says “Sent” plus datetime, but it is placed in the Outbox folder.
What is the “Sent messages” folder for? It’s empty in my case.
In similar forums the message stays in Outbox until receiver opens it. While message is in Outbox, sender can still edit it (and possibly delete it). I guess message gets moved to Sent message box when receiver opens it.
Having fun here. Never seen PM enabled.
It makes life a lot easier and spam…lets see if we can handle that.
THANKS!!!
I noticed the PM is now disabled again. Was it that bad being enabled?
They were fiddling with their website recently perhaps the default is closed and it has to enabled again??
@anav: There could be many reasons. You haven’t been sending too many “fan mail” PMs to @normis, were you? ![]()
None, he is arleady in my bad books, no more maple syrup in the mail, until he hires bpwl to help MT with wifi (documentation and coding).
Bugging staff is not usually a good idea.
