I am also looking for it too…
It will be very shame if RouterOS doesn’t have option for more than two DNS server and it is worse if it has it but in different place
my whole network is going down every once in a while because the first two dns server from each ISP is down sometimes and they gave us 4 dns server, total of 12 dns server I need to set to be 100% sure but even 4 will be still good.
even stupid windows ip setting has unlimit number of dns (or at least so many, I didn’t try to put more than 10)
run your own DNS… if you have 2 DNS servers, and you point each of them to 2 different servers, your customers will then be looking at 4 servers in whole, and saving you some bandwidth as their DNS traffic will be contained in your network…
exactly what I am trying to do is running my own DNS server, but you can only key in two dns IP address in the Mikrotik DNS server that makes it very weak…
I know… I know… the answer from Mikrotik will be MIKROTIK IS ONLY MEANT TO BE A ROUTER IN THE NETWORK… RUN YOUR OWN DNS SERVER SEPARATELY…
you should be running 2 of your own DNS servers, not just one. remember, “one is none, two is one.” so specify 2 seperate DNS servers in each of your DNS servers, then your customers will be referencing 4 through your two.
and if that’s not good enough, then run a real DNS server. MT is a router, it’s DNS imlementation is not meant to be the enterprise solution which you are trying to use it for.
