How to set dynamic ports.

Hi,

I’m new to configuring mikrotik devices.

Could any one tell me how i set the ethernet ports to use dynamic IP’s instead of static in the cmd?
(If I’m asking a retarded question please let me know)

How do i set the IP? And where do i find the IP that lets me connect to the router via winbox?

Mikrotik devices usually default at 192.168.88.1

But use winbox and connect via MAC. It will keep you from getting disconnected while you build or change the config.

Hi,

Thank you for your response, however I do not think my previous post explained my problem properly.

For the moment I can only connect through a serial cable, because the ethernet ports on the router is closed. What I want to know is how i open the ports and set the configurations so that i can logg in via Winbbox.
