Yes, sure you can (although I don’t get what is the exact difference between “in software” and “automatically” 
).
As @BartoszP states, there are lots of topics on this here on the forum - e.g. this one. But if you use some UDP connections and the switchover is necessary multiple times a day as I suspect, you may need additional scripting to deal with the changes.
