Hi I would like to know how to setup mikrotik to use userman pppoe connection, we are currently using this, but we would like to assign each client a public ip address, is this possible.
Our ideal situation is to have certain clients 5 or so that require Public IP addressing to use them, but the remaining clients to continue using NAT.
If that will not work I have a spare router, which I can use just for the clients that get public ip address.
CURRENT SETUP
MIKROTIK 2.9.49 with three wireless adapters, one incomming lan is used to connect to our provider. LAN1 is PPPOE to ISP with address range 168.167.xxx.xxx and the traffic is natted to clients on private ip range of 192.168.xxx.xxx
We have userman set to do the management of the PPPOE connections…
All is working great.
We just want to have some clients get public ip addresses.
it’s really easy using external radius server…you just setup ippools but for usernam I have really no idea…try setting up another pool with pubips and set these users to use that sertain pool.
Thanks again for the replies, will be trying both meathods, as soon as I have recieved a new testing router. As we had to use our testing one when lightning damaged one of our other routers.
