how to setup...

hey all.

i´m new to mikrotik and router os… (was running alix2c3 with debian before)

i got the following situation:

120Mbit Cable gateway
|
port1—RB450G--------------------------
|- port 2 (dhcpd running) |— port 3 → one laptop (should receive ip from dhcp too)
|
switch
|
some LAN devices

my problem is, that the laptop on port 3 doesnt receive an adress from dhcp. if i give him manually an ip adress, no i-net connection.
the laptop should not be at the switch (which would be the easiest way)

i need to configure the RB450G to give an ip adress on port 3 and let port 3 access the internet.
how can i say that ?
port 3 needs to be configured like port 2 and act like port 2. i would like to put a switch on port 2 AND port 3 and do them act the same way.

src nat wirh masquerade enabled for the gateway port 1

switch to all ports

what do i do wrong ?
if you need morre information let me know

sorry for my bad english.

You can create Bridge and add ether2 and ether3 in Ports…
Than set DHCP interface to broadcast on bridge1 interface…

hi,

i set up as you said.

created bridge, added the local ports 2 and 3.
changed dhcp setting to bridge instead of port 2.

now i got dhcp red lined as invalid. if i change back dhcpd to local port 2 dhcpd runs, but not on bridge

You need to add ip address on bridge1.

Something like 192.168.0.1/24
And set dhcp pool something like 192.168.0.100-192.168.0.200 and assign it to Your dhcp server.

Hello ,

Regarding This issue , Friend use this instruction below :

add – bridge include [ether2+ether3].
add-> ip->address->192.168.1.1/24 to interface ->bridge.
add->pool → name: pool1
address → 192.168.1.2-192.168.2.254
add->dhcp server → name new →
interface ->bridge →
lease time:3d 00:00:00 →
Address pool-> pool1
add->hotspot
name->server
interface->bridge
address pool->pool1
login->login-hs
