How to split bandwidth between two different devices

Hi all

I have just set up a routerboard at home to basically act as a programmable switch for multiple PCs. I have a PCs plugged into port 2 and 3 at the moment and I am wondering how I could split the bandwidth between them both equally. So say I have a 10Mbs download speed would it be possible to filter 5Mbs on each pc, and would i be able to toggle this easily.

Thanks in advance.

Have you read this ? http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Queue

With just two users, maybe its best to just share…That way you can get 10mb or 2 or 3, but above 5…If it has to be half, that is easy. Just set up a queue with 5mb each. Problem is when the “other guy” is not on, you will still get 5.

Not true. It is possible to distribute the free bandwidth equally over the individual limits. See the htb queue tree…
