hello
i have a BaseBox 5 and an external antenna with 2 rpsma male connectors connected to basebox 5
i have’nt mounted the antenna yet but i want to know how to test if the link between antenna and basebox are working
thanks
Did you use pre fabricated cables? Or did you make them yourself?
If you used pre made, then just connect them, screw them HAND tight (do not overtighten), and it should work.
There is no “reliable” way of testing. A good RF design, path loss calculation etc… is the basis for a good and reliable link. Of course the hardware should be good of quality and well connected.
thank you for answering , looks like i should test it when it’s ready for ptp
NO!
you should have done your homework, regarding LOS, path loss calculations. The outcome of that shows if your setup will work on paper. Then on the tower it is important to use quality products and install them according to the manufacturer. Up to the last requirement (for example grounding the dish)…
