How to turn off 2.4G WiFi signal

Hi all,

I want my WiFi network to run on pure 5G frequency band and turn off 2.4G signal. While I can disable 2.4G wireless interface on winbox, the 2.4G signal still keeps transmitting and it is showing a “hidden network” in spectrum software. Is there way to turn off 2.4G or any WiFi signal?

Disabling the interface should turn off the radio. Are you sure your test method is correct?

Some tools can take quite a while before a network disappears.
Switching off wifi on your test device and enable again should fix that.

showing a “hidden network” in spectrum software

“hidden network” or only visible in “freq usage”?

Only in “freq usage” or in some radio spectrum tool, and not in scan or “Snooper”, then is is not a 802.11 wifi signal or MT nstreme or nv2, but some other device using 2.4GHz
TDMA wireless 2.4GHz is also used by other AP brands, and is not ‘readable’ by MT (eg.: nv2 is MT’s TDMA protocol, unreadable by other brands.)
Bluetooth is in the 2.x range
Could be CCTV or other monitoring system. Could even be a microwave oven. (900Watt (!) in a faraday cage that leaks).
