Can anyone help me out to upgrade Router-Board OS from 2.9.6 to 3.28…

Use Netinstall,

Thanks for ur prompt response…I am uploading the .npk package files into the mikrotik and rebooting which did not work and am getting an error in the log as “license does not support new version of …”


Will net install resove this…

yes, just tick ‘Keep current config’

Yes it will.

There was an upgrade boundry at around 2.9.12. Then the nice guys at Mikrotik changed the license to allow everyone with 2.9 to go to 3.x. To get past that original boundry, you need to use netinstall.
