I have an RB750GL running 6.31. Is there no upgrade to it that works? I downloaded 6.41, dropped it into the files (root directory as far as I can tell), and rebooted. It came back up still at 6.31. Any thoughts?
Try to upgrade to older version first … older means 6.39 or even to 6.36 (previous “bugfix”) and then to 6.40.6 bugfix or directly to 6.41.3 but remember … 6.41 has changed bridge behaviour so please read the changelog carefully before upgrade to 6.41
Okay. I’ll give that a shot. What do you mean by changed bridge behavior?
There is no master-port setting for interfaces now. There are only bridges now which decide itself which interfaces are hardware off-loaded. It schould mimic master-port behaviour.

I tried going back as far as 6.34.5. No joy. Thoughts?
Check the log. What does it write?
Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Using Winbox, I click on log. All is selected. I copy the file by dragging it into Files. The log shows nothing.
If you wish to upgrade:
In Winbox, go to System - Packages and press the button “Check for Updates”. Choose the Channel you wish and then press “Download & Install”
If you wish to downgrade:
Go to https://mikrotik.com/download/archive and select the version you want from “Bugfix” or “Current”
Download the package "routeros-mipsbe-X.XX.X.npk or download the zip file “all_packages-mipsbe-X.XX.X.zip”
If you download the zip file, extract it to a folder.
Drag’n’drop either the .npk file or the extracted files from the folder to “files” in Winbox.
Go to System - Packages and press the button “Downgrade”
Yeah, tried that. Nothing. It seems to download and then reboot just fine, but when it comes back up, 6.31. Very strange. Maybe the RB750GL is upgrade-resistant?
When it comes up check the log. What does it write?
A. Export configuration.
B. Netinstall to 6.40.6
C. Import configuration
D. Test if it works
E. Upgrade to 6.41 branch if you wish.
