I have a question. I am using pfsense as a router and i have a cap ap as a Access point in bridge mode and i want to set-up a virtual ap with a vlan. I already have the vlan set-up in pfsense and it is reachable from the main network but when i set up the virtual ap with a vlan i can’t get a ip from that vlan
Thanks for your help but alas to no avail.
Maybe it does not work because i have my pfsense router in a vm on my windows machine. It does use my ethernetcard for lan network but maybe it’s that part where the tag’s get lost.
Network: VM → HOST (NEWORK CARD) → TP-LINK MANAGED SWITCH → MIKROTIK CAP AP
The production hardware is gone be deliverd soon. I will try it then again.
If pfSense is loosing tags, then that’s between pfSense and tp-link. It is essential that configs on tp-link and cap ac match … so whatever vlans are configured to be tagged on tplink (on port connecting cap ac) have to be configured accordingly on cap ac as well.
