i’m a LAN administrator, where our backbone rests on the scientific linux and aix servers. Recently, with the purchase of new HW we got our first share of windows 10 machines.
I’m concerned with the windows sending private informations (data mining) to the windows telemetry servers.
I think blocking specific IPs or domains, as these things can change dynamically is not quite effective, so is there any like a general way how to block this unwanted traffic on mikrotik? Eg. via deep packet inspection? Or?
I’m inspecting my options, including linux gateway (iptables and transparent proxy) but not sure which approach to take and if it’s even possible…
