Hi gurus and other forum users
I have a HAP ac2 acting as primary lan router with bridged internet modem currently on ether1 (I think this may be the only POE in port)
I want to use POE to power the HAP from my UPS in another room (supplying a subnet router).
Can I move the internet cable to another ethernet port or power the HAP from ether5?
Thanks
Chris
PoE-in or PoE-out capabilities are physical port capabilities, they cannot be moved.
But you can move internet, or the WAN, to a different port, for example ether2 and leave ether1 only for powering the hAP ac2.
You can use the same method I explained here
Many thanks for explanation
regards
Chris
For easier technique (for newbies like me)
turn off router
plug internet into desired port
turn on router
check the automatic configuration
under bridge add ethernet1 AND make sure your new WAN attached ethernet port is removed from the bridge
prettyness addition:
rename your ehternetX port to WANethernetX so you remember which port you attached to the internet
worked for me whereas the referenced page is for a prior version and does not
Oops
Backup
Reset to factory default First!
