Greetings,

With too little experience on my own side, please could you guys help me and check if this queue tree structure would work and/or have any advice for me towards best practice.

The result wanted is:

  • No PC or activity should be max limited on the lan if additional bandwidth is available.
  • VOIP, DNS, etc must have first priority before anything else.
  • PC 1 should guaranteed 200K/1.5M regardless the activities running on PC 2 and 3
  • FTP and torrent traffic must have the lowest priority overall.

When you only have 512 kbps upload traffic, don’t make 1mbps max-limit. Set the max-limit equal with total traffic you have.

I just put it high because I didn’t want to limit anyone. The line vary a bit in speed, so if it is periodically higher than I wanted to tale that advantage.

Does have any negative impact to set it heigher then the nominal bandwidth.
