try another browser. this seems like a windows/browser issue.
actually i dont think it is.
take this scenario for example.
i made a new hostpot username for JohnDoe and when JohnDoe tries to start the internet he keeps looping on http://none/
I found a way around this and that is to edit the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
i added:
192.168.0.1 none
that tells windows that none->192.168.0.1
why do i need to do that though?
i need help!
look via winbox :
IP
Services
look thet is www 80(port) available
meybe it helps u
yes. www. is on port 80. how does that help me? i still have problem.
theh, if u have in your mikrotik swith off this service then is mean … ??
thet u can’t open it !!!
i bet you have none entered in some incorrect place in the hotspot config. export your router’s config and search for none.
you see, none is nothing that a browser can know about. it’s a word, it’s not a special browser link, nor a special URI.
well i reinstalled and i am havng the problem again and heres where i suspect it is.
when i setup Hotspot through the console system it asked me for a DNS NAME and i inputted “internet”
now when i load up IE or FF it keeps gonig: http://internet .. same problem with none
i was thinking to myself today and i thought what if i change the word internet to 192.168.0.1 and then when it does http:// it’ll insert the ip.
how do i export the settings?
well there you go … found the problem ![]()
to export settings, type /export file=something and download something.rsc with FTP. can be opened, edited and re-imported.
can i change that setting through winbox for internet or do i have to go through /ip hotspot setup again? i am not at home so thats why i am asking.
yes, go to ip hotspot and change the DNS name in the profile.
