Huawei E1692 3G modem support - RB411U

Hello,

yesterday I bought one Huawei E1692 for 3G connection. Although is not listed in supported hardware (is it the same with E169 ?) it have been recognized, but I cannot connect…

  • I have tried several options, and I have found that channel 0 is for data, and channel 1 for information.
  • I have removed pin request for less trouble.
  • I have found the correct APN string (“gint.b-online.gr”) for my provider (WIND in Greece).
  • I have successfully scanned for networks (using either AT Commands, either console utility).
  • I have enough signal for connection. When I use the same modem on my laptop, it connects.
  • I have tried to dial using AT Commands, and dialing was successful (as modem reported).

… but connection flow freezes at “ppp-wind: reseting link…”.

  • What else I have to check or correct ?
  • Is that modem supported ?
  • Is it the same with E169 ?

After reading http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/huawei-e169/26488/11 I realized that channel 0 maybe the virtual cd-rom device that carries the windows/mac drivers.

I changed the data channel to 1 (as information channel) but with no luck. Now, after “reseting link…” it brings repeatedly “initializing modem…” and “dialing out…”.

For dialing phones, I have tried, nothing, “991#", "99*1#”, “*99#1”, and maybe others with no success.

any help ?

I would recommend to contact MikroTik support (support@mikrotik.com) with the problem about the modem.

Some use #77 or #777

Also..

Here in Phoenix I remove the APN string (it just causes lockups at init modem for me)..

I run a Sprint 598U and 300U / 301U and the Verizon 760

Craig:

Would you mind posting your config for the CMU 301U and 300U?

I’m not having any luck getting them configured…
