Huawei E173... detected but no port?

Hi Everybody,

I am trying to set up a 3G internet connection using a Huawei E173 “dongle” on my Routerboard CRS125-24G-1S (RouterOS 6.18). I’ve done some Google searching but can’t seem to find a solution to this problem, nor does it appear that anyone else is experience the same symptoms

I’ve had the same modem working today on a RB751U-2HnD, I’m not totally green when it comes to setting up one of these devices in RouterOS.

I can see that the Huawei E173 is plugged in :-

[admin@Cloud Switch] /system resource usb> print

DEVICE VENDOR NAME SPEED

0 1:1 Linux 3.3.5 ehci_hcd RB400 EHCI 480 Mbps
1 1:2 HUAWEI Technology HUAWEI Mobile 480 Mbps
[admin@Cloud Switch] /system resource usb>

But I do not get a corresponding port so I can set up a PPP Client connection :-

[admin@Cloud Switch] /port> print
Flags: I - inactive

DEVICE NAME CHANNELS USED-BY BAUD-RATE

0 serial0 1 Serial Console auto
[admin@Cloud Switch] /port>

Any ideas/suggestions on what I am doing wrong or what I have missed? The same symptoms appear on my RB2011UAS as well.

Regards,

Michael.
