Huawei E8372

I have a Huawei E8372 USB LTE stick (with onboard Wifi).

I wish to use it with my beloved HAP AC2 router.

The problem is, the lte interface comes up and goes down constantly at every single 2 seconds.

Log:

Power is solid, router works perfectly, nothing else fails but this. Stick is connected directly to the router. What can I try? (Note: stick itself doesn’t seem rebooting).

Oh, versions:
6.49.11 (latest stable).

Any recommendations?

I bought this stick after investing this page: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Peripherals

It states:

Works! LTE interface only. vendor-id=“0x12d1” device-id=“0x14db”

So, the problem is this stick keeps changing its deviceID between 0x1f01 and 0x14db.

One is mass storage, other is modem. I can’t stop this constant modechange in mikrotik.

On linux there is a “usb_modeswitch” trick which can work, and I also found some resources explaining the problem:

https://github.com/Huawei-LTE-routers-mods/README/blob/master/disable_autoswitch_on_new_models.md

Can you please integrate this USB option into version 6.x RouterOS?

Upgrade to ROS 7. My E3372-320 did the same thing with 6.x. That’s actually documented if you look here: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Peripherals#Peripherals-Cellularmodems
