I have an internet center.
16mbps internet speed, static ip.

Router: Trendnet TEW- 436brm

Switch: D-link Web Smart (DES-1250G) 48-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch with QOS

I want bandwidth control (limit it), QOS and block torrents and if possible to have an web cache (web proxy server).

What hardware do you suggest me?

Also if i use QOS from a mikrotik do i need to disable it on my switch?

any routeros device would do the job.

Its possible to qos in more than one place, but it must be better to not have to manage 2 deveses to do this.

I want web cache also. can you recommend me a particular device to buy.

if there’s no many connections in same time, the regular SOHO routers will useful, but if you need web cache you need a usb port and storage too. I think RB750GL is a good selection.

sorry, i made the mistake in words, RB750UP is the correct
but if you need gigabit ports you could purchase a routerboard with USB ports anf Gigabit Ethernet.

RB433GL sounds good to me: 680Mhz cpu, 3 ethernets and a USB.
And I haven’t read of ethernet problems with it still.
