Am a student in Nigeria, and I have a mikrotik routerboard 951G with hopes that I can provide wireless network for students like myself in my hostel.
Am extremely new to mikrotik routers, so I want to know how to set the wireless settings of my routerboard to fully cover a three storey building with about 40 rooms containing minimum of 4 students in each room per floor as my room is located at the middle of the third floor which implies same location for my router.
I extremely need to know if such connection is possible with only my routerboard or I will need any other device to help.
I will be extremely grateful to whoever may take his prestigious time to reply my post

than you will be able to cover 3 floors with good signal and 160 users with appropriate throughput…
It’s difficult to answer your question without knowing the construction of the building. Even then, it’s just going to be guesswork, and my guess is that it will struggle. Placing the router as close the centre of the desired coverage area as possible and then testing it is the only way to find out.
