I LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF THE ROUTER CONFIGURATION HOW DO I GET ACCESS BACK IN

I just bought a Mikrotik router RB951 2Hnd as I was trying to configure wifi hotspot easy vouchers I locked myself out of the router right now I can not access the router’s configurations I tried to reset but no luck it seems like its not resetting anything the access point name that I set is still apprearing when I try to access to access the wifi SSID
I only changed the ip address on the port 1 of the access point .

Is there any other way I can reset besides that of turning the router off and pressing the reset button and turning the router on whilist holding the reset button till link light turns on

Please I desperately need your help

Have you try winbox with MAC-address.
If that don’t work only a hardware reset is the solution.

Hi,

I Think you are not resetting the device correctly.

  1. Plug out all cables, including the power.

  2. Press the reset button and hold it.

  3. Plug the power back in while holding the reset

  4. The act light should start flashing after 10s.

  5. You should be good to go then.

This is the netinstall procedure

This should work. Also, you can connect to the WAN port of the Mikrotik and try to winbox from there. Hotspot will block most everything IP-based until you’re authenticated, so if all of your LAN ports are part of a hotspot, then MAC-based Winbox is going to be your way to go.
