I need to set up an ADDITIONAL 2.4 only network

I have a couple “dumb” mart home devices that require 2.4 ghz only and will not connect to the SSID that’s the combined 2.4/5ghz network.

Can someone point me to a walkthrough for how to do this? So far I got online, got the port forwarding done and have MOST of the stuff back up and working. One litterbox and one thermostat to go. I’ll worry about the wifi only cameras outside another day (when I have daylight to work on them).

I suppose your device support wifi 5 only.

Try to see up via legacy CAPsMan to allow them to work with 2.4G only

You can create an additional configuration for frequency and define arbitrary frequencies in 2.4 band, then if you create a virtual radio, you can assign this configuration.

It's in the Wireless settings menu > Band: select 2.4 a/b/g/n.
Every Mikrotik that has wireless connectivity has this setting.

This looks like a situation which requires a slave wireless interface on 2.4 only with its own dedicated SSID
