i386 installation problems

Greetings

Have run into a problem with an i386 install on a new DualCore Supermicro machine (750GB HDD, 1024MB RAM). The CD boots fine, installation progresses normally and then formats the drive and then the error occurrs. I am doing a minimal install so only system, installer reports:

“Package System-2.9.48 oninstall script failed”
System installed

Press Enter to reboot.

After reboot only get the message:

“Missing Operating System”

I have tried several reinstalls.

Has anyone encountered this before? Any ideas? I checked my ISO and it seems fine although there is no MD5Sum on the download page I downloaded to 2 different servers and the sums matched.

I am going to try V3 RC9 now and see.

Thanks in advance.
Simon

Try NetInstall.

Update:

V3.0rc9 works! Its seems there is a problem wit SATA drives and licence problems but I am up and running!!

in v2, there’s no SATA support

and… does v2 support 1 Gb RAM?

v2 will recognize only 950Mb of your ram, no matter how much you have there. v3 will recognize 2gb
