I tried to setup a iBGP session on the physical VRRP interface IP’s but it didn’t work out as I guess the interfaces aren’t active other than for hello’s and routing?
Anyone ever try it for giggles?
Nothing is blocked on physical interface where vrrp is running (unless you have set firewall to block everything except vrrp multicast packets).
I have an allow any to any rule in place. The session establishes but it drops packets like crazy. I’m running v6.0 GA.
This is a very basic setup with no routes being exchanged either.
It just doesn’t seem to like running on the physical VRRP interface IP’s. It runs fine if I put it on separate interfaces.
