IDE Flash drive (do or don't)

Is it better to use the mikrotik 128MB Flash IDE or to buy my own DOC and put the software on it? Is the mikrotik flash IDE of high quality, and does a person need more that 128mb ever?

I don’t know if MTs drives are anything better but my first, best and longest running router has a 64 meg mt dom purchased at WISPCON II. I think it had 2.6.x on it but is always upraded to the latest.

Having made that statement, we all know the drive will crash tonight.

this is what i did.

i built 2 solid state routers, not 1 moving part.

in my build/reasearch i ended up using cf as my primary drive and i bought some ide to cf adapters and instlled the fastest cf on the market.

these little units run pretty sweet and temp is not an issue they are runing in a 1u config.

we also had these units csa approved. Im still learning but the applications are endless for these setups.
