Ideal wireless setting for p2mp network

Hi, I am newbie and want to understand MT wireless.
I have seen lot of posts and getting confused.

Can anyone tell me what should be ideal setting for a p2mp link
Range- 5 kms
5 GHz.

Need following details.

  1. Main Link- Mode :AP- Bridge. Is any other mode supported? I want use nstream
Main Link is Omnitik. Only one Omnitik on tower
  2. On Clients. Mode : Bridge [ I want pppoe with pppoe server which is connected with Main Link ], Can I use any other mode?
    station? station-bridge? station-pseudo-bridge?
  3. Main Link: Channel Width? Should I keep 5mhz?
  4. Channel : Should I use supperchannel?
  5. Wireless Protocol? : If i want to use nstream/nv2, . with above configuration [ Main: AP-Bridge, Client- Bridge/station-bridge] what configuration required at both ends?
  6. There may be 20-50 customer max on one Omnitik . total bandwidth not more than 5-10mbps.
Should I set data rate or tx-power manually?
  7. Is any use of HT here?
  8. Is setting wds dynamic/static make performance changes?
  9. Currently I am using Main- AP-Bridge, Client-Bridge, Issue is sometimes heavy flooding and customers frequently get disconnected.
  10. My Clients also get frequently disconnected reason- datafrom unknown device- sent deauth.

Appreciate everyone's help . But I want to create standard document and performance parameters if any others effecting my link.

Requirement is simple Omnitik + Client [ all MT], distance 5 kms. Should work rock-solid. Which is not case right now :frowning:

=========================

  1. for a multipoint configuration is the AP- Bridge. for a point to point is birdge

  2. bridge station is the best .

  3. change it to 20MHz, remember you have to spend a lot of traffic and you need space in which to pass.

  4. the superchanel you can use if you want to transmit outside of the standart channels, but also remember that the CPE should be able to transmit on those channels, and above all be careful in your region licensed to transmit on other channels.

  5. I prefer to use unknow, NV2 lacks even make improvements as far off clients, maybe with this latest version had improved but I personally have not tried it yet.

  6. The speed depends on what you consume your customers, I have used maximum of 20 clients per AP and still have achieved a decent performance.

  7. if the four active ht to take advantage of the double check polarity.
:sunglasses: Wds I use when I want to spend entire networks from one place to another, I mean a LAN to LAN connection to the AP-Client connection is best ap-bridge and bridge station. Wds mac adrress transmits all from one place to another and that takes away performance.

  8. this can occur for weak signals or interference, omnitik has an omni directional and receives signals from the 360 degrees, in addition to this the antenna gain is low, so I estimate about 3 to 4km of coverage, unless large antennas use customer side to compensate for the omnitik.

  9. when a CPE that does not have the same ssid than your app and do a scan, to find your app will negotiate the connection, but does not belong to this is ruled out and that’s the message you send.

Thanks a lot. I didnt understood 8th Answer.
If I set station-wds on client, will this come into picture and will it effect?

Another thing. I have pppoe setup on one central server, and all traffic comes to it, which not desirable.
Any solution for the same?
If I setup a pppoe server in between but still wants to limit bandwidth from main PPPOE server. Is it possible?

The middle server will talk to radius.
