Hi,
due to home office, I’ve got two uplinks:
- Cable with dynamic IPv6 prefix and dual stack lite
- DSL with dynamic public IPv4 address
I’ve also got a work laptop, private workstation, and of course a range of wired and wireless devices, and a Mikrotik CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN.
The cable uplink is considerably faster so I’d prefer to use that most of the time. But I would like to be able to use the DSL uplink
- for certain target addresses on a certain downlink (happy to configure that on the downlink itself)
- in general on certain downlinks (read: VMs) with static config
- on “DHCP Clients” when cable is down. Now, since I do have monitoring in place and can tell when one of the uplinks is down, I wouldn’t even mind doing this manually with a physical switch or changing a network cable – but that would collide with the former 2 points.
If both uplinks just had a public IPv4 address, I’d know what to do. But the DS lite iPv6 on one uplink and the fact that the other uplink doesn’t have any IPv6 support at all adds complexity to this.
Any ideas?
