In version 2.8 with the hotspot I set up a 15 minute idle timeout for my users, then if they did not use the system for 15 minutes they would get logged off… When I looked at the active users the time in the idle timeout column would count down when they were not using the network and when it hit zero the users were logged off.
But in version 2.9 in the active user window the idle timeout just stays fixed at 15 minutes. It never decreases.. So in 2.9 does the idle timeout still work, but just not show the time till logout in the active users screen, or has something changed?
the idle-timeout value is always constant in the ‘ip hotspot active’ printput. You should look for the print details for the idle-time. In v2.9.8 we have changed some commands so it would look better. There will be print stats:
[uldis@Hotspot_rc] ip hotspot active> pr stats
Flags: R - radius, B - blocked
# USER UPTIME BYTES-IN BYTES-OUT PACKETS-IN PACKETS-OUT
0 R uldis 5h54m30s 3174532 10847141 26580 24023
and print status:
[uldis@Hotspot_rc] ip hotspot active> pr status
Flags: R - radius, B - blocked
# USER UPTIME IDLE-TIME IDLE-TIMEOUT SESSION-TIME-LEFT
0 R uldis 5h52m31s 9s 1h 1w1d20h14m3s
the regular print will show:
[uldis@Hotspot_rc] ip hotspot active> p
Flags: R - radius, B - blocked
# USER ADDRESS UPTIME SESSION-TIME-LEFT IDLE-TIMEOUT
0 R uldis 10.5.50.2 5h56m29s 1w1d20h10m5s 1h
