IEEE 1905.1 support

Hi everyone,
So I am currently in the market for new switches. I have
Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+ running SwOS
Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+ running SwOS
D-Link DGS-1510-28P
D-Link DGS-1510-28
D-Link DGS-1210-20

I am trying to install a TP Link Deco M4 MESH WiFi system. It works perfectly if I use WiFi only. Things lock up when I use ethernet backhaul with the above switches. A recent update to ASUS AiMESH also seems to have broken ethernet backhaul as well.

So here is the issue. TP Link Mesh ethernet backhaul depends on IEEE 1905.1 to work. This protocol helps the access point to decide to use the ethernet backhaul or WiFi for backhaul. If the switch the node access point plugged into does not support IEEE 1905.1 the Deco Mesh WiFi will lockup. (Due to trying to use both ethernet and WiFi backhaul at the same time.)

For reference to TP Link’s statement on the issue see.

So the bottom line issue is the D-Link switches do not support IEEE 1905.1 and the TP Link Mesh WiFi system locks if I try to use ethernet backhaul. My ASUS AIMesh system also stopped being able to use ethernet backhaul with a recent update. (So I am guessing they are moving to IEEE 1905.1 for their system as well.) As the D-Link switches are enterprise I have already opened a ticket with D-Link enterprise support to try and resolve the issue. But this could take them a lot of time to resolve the issue.

As a result, I am looking to replace the D-Link switches with something that actually fully supports IEEE 1905.1

Does anyone know if all current MikroTik switches fully support IEEE 1905.1?
Does anyone here have experience with deploying MikroTik switches and TP Link DECO mesh wifi with ethernet backhaul? Have they had any issues? If the switch does not support ethernet backhaul the TP Link mesh will either fully lock up or have intermittent random lockups for 10-20 seconds.

Thanks for any help/advice anyone can offer here!

Did you try to connect that Deco’s to the Mikrotik directly?
